It has been about a month since my last post. I have been real busy with work and getting ready for the Midwest Toy Soldier Show. I wanted to make a quick post about some new figures and also an update on my figures.

Alexey has been busy revamping his company. I received a bunch of figures from him this week. He started working with some new sculptors and here is some of the results.

1 BEP (1 parachute battalion Foreign legion, the Battle of Dien Bien Phu) 5 figures: gunner, sniper, legionnaire grenade, two Legionnaire with sub-machine gun. Scale: 1/32

Legionnaire with a grenade.

Gunner.

3 / 9

Legionnaire with sub-machine gun wearing a helmet.

Legionnaire with two sub-machine gun wearing a beret.

Sniper.

Here is a Mercenary figure that can be purchased by itself. He reminds me of an IRA Freedom Fighter. The figure does fit really very with the Indo-China set. You can see more of Prikaz over here Prikaz Toy Soldiers.

Publius is working on a Iroquois Indian set. The prototypes look great. I just got a bunch of Publius figures that I will review in a couple of weeks.

In my last post we talked about the limited set of Anglo Saxons miniatures that I am having produced. I received some of the sets this week. Here are some pictures of the final figure cast. Hopefully I will be able to put some sets together for the show. I need more of the 8th figure to complete more sets. Some of these figures are cast without a shield or hand with a spear. This was done for two reasons. The first was to get a nicer cast figure. The second reason was to avoid a spaghetti type spear being cast. After some tests the spearmen will be cast in two different resins. The figure will be cast in a rubbery type resin and the hand with the spear will be cast in a harder resin to avoid the bending of the spear. My vision of this set was to have a Saxon Spear Wall. To avoid any of the spears getting broken during shipping, I am thinking of leaving them unattached from the figure. The collector can use crazy glue to attach the shield and hand with the spear.

Today I was going through the figures and trimming any flash that I found. I set some of them up to fight a small battle with some Prikaz Danes. I mixed in a few Publius Saxons (blue guys) too.

The other day I stumbled across these vintage Playmobil Gauls. They are sets 7923 & 7924. They are hard to find and usually are expensive if you do find them. I got lucky to get both of these sets for $20.00.

The Gaul Leader 7923

The Gaul Warriors 7924

I wish Playmobil had expanded on this theme. Most Playmobil collectors had to make their own Gauls to fight against the Romans. These figures will be joining Hannibal’s Army…

Don’t forget about the Midwest Toy Soldier Show. It will start in about 25 days. It is one of the best shows around. Plenty of plastic and metal figures. I will be there selling my new miniatures, toys from my own collection, and LOD & Barzso products.

That is it for now. Thank you for reading.
