Sunday April 18th is almost here. The Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show is about a week away. This will be the 1st major toy soldier show in over a year on the East coast. Gettysburg is a perfect place for a show. It has history and charm. There are plenty of same shops in the town also. A great place to get away for a weekend or a week. In my last post I wrote about the Gulliver Toy Soldiers. The figures are copies of Atlantic Toy Soldiers. I ordered the Cowboy Camp Playset because it had a mixture of Cowboys & Indians. I was surprised on the size of the box and playset. The set includes 24 figures, 3 horses, 3 teepees, 2 trees, 1 wagon, and some camp accessories. Here are some pictures of the accessories for the set. Most of the accessories are original products that were made by Gulliver.

There are 12 Cowboys & Miner figures and 2 horses.

You can switch the mounted figures from the horses to the wagon.

One the bottom of the figures they are labeled Gulliver. This is good. Collectors will know the difference in the future if they find these figures loose in the wild.

There are 12 Native American Indian figures and 1 horse. Most of these figures depict life at the in a camp setting.

The last figure below was a lot smaller than most of the other figures. I don’t know if these was an original Atlantic figure.

Most of the figures are about 56mm or so. They are smaller than the original Atlantic figures. Most of the Atlantic figures were 60mm. I have a few pictures below for comparison to see how the match up with either Atlantic or some other brands.

Here are 5 figures below show the scale comparison. In order starting from the left is a Conte Alamo figure, Gulliver Cowboy, Barzso Merryman, Gulliver Native Indian and 54mm Marx Viking. You can see the different sizes with the Gulliver figures. I will try to find some Atlantic Indians in the future for comparison.

Here is 1/32 Barzso Merry Man figure below with the Gulliver tree. They look really nice together.

All in all I am very happy to add these figures to my collection. The details of the figures are nice. The plastic feels like the Atlantic plastic. The green color was the only color that I didn’t like. Some are 54mm in size like Airfix or Marx. Then some are like the new big 1/32 scale figures that are about 55mm or 56mm size. The TSSD and Paragon figures are about that size too.

I have a collection of Western toy soldiers in different scales. I have a bunch of foreign made Cowboys and Indians. They are mostly around 60mm in size. You can mix some of these figures with other brands with no problems. Andre is a good seller from Brazil. It took about a week for the figures to arrive. The set was surrounded by packing peanuts so nothing would get damaged. Andre said that there should be some new sets in the future from Gulliver.

LOD Toy Soldiers has some new colors for their Medieval Sheriff’s Men & Robin Hood Merry Men sets. The Merry Men are in a new tan color and the Sheriff’s Men are in a new Gold color now. They look really nice. I will have some of these sets for sale at the Gettysburg Toy Show next Sunday.

As I was writing this post up Ken messaged me about an update on the American Revolution Cavalry set that he is working on. They look great. Here is what Ken said, “Here are three of the prototypes for the new Calvary sets. I received them this week from the factory. If you would like to include them in your post, feel free to do so. Here are a few things that I have found out in the wild at some local flea markets. I found 4 more metal cannons for $10. Three of them I can use for the French & Indian War era. These cannons are about 1/32 in scale.

I found this Motorworks U.S. Sherman Tank for $27. It is about 1/32 in scale.

Who knows what I will find next week at the Gettysburg show? I think it will be a great show as usual. My next post will be about the show. Until then, that is it for now.
