I hope every one is doing well. I have been working off and on. I was able to get out this week to visit some antique stores and a couple of comic shops. I found a few things while I was out searching. We will get to that later. I thought this post was going to be quick post about some vintage toys that I found. But in the last couple of days I became aware of a few things. So let us begin…..

Bullet Proof Miniatures is a new company that makes miniatures by 3D printing them. You can chose the scale of your figure. I am going to get a few figures to do a review in the future. Publius is going to release a new WWII Russian Infantry set. This set is titled “Winter 44th” They look great. The scale is 1/32.

Engineer Basevich also has a new WWII Russian Infantry set. This set is titled “Battle of Berlin”. Here are some pictures of the test figures. I hope that they are either green or rusty brown. In 2018 AMC had a new TV show called the “Terror”. The first season was about a British Naval polar explorers. The ships get stuck in the ice. They try to survive the harsh weather conditions and each other, while being stalked by some thing… It is a good show. You can read more about it at, https://www.amc.com/shows/the-terror/season-1.

When I first watched the show I thought that it would be a cool playset. Well Ivan at “Little Men” must have been reading my mind. Here is a new set that they are working on. It looks great. I can’t wait to get a set of these. They will be plastic and 1/32 in scale.

I found a few things this week at an antique mall. I have been a fan of Auburn rubber toys for a while. The past year I found a few different trucks and jeeps. This week I added a medical truck. The guy on the Motorcycle was made by Tim Mee.

A few weeks ago I purchased a vintage comic book. It was Moon Knight #8. On the back cover was an ad for Lucky Products Toy Soldiers. I found a bag of these this week for $5.00!!

During the time that I have been stuck in my house I have been productive. I have been going through my collection. I have been storing things in my basement the past 10 years. They have been stored in different boxes. I have been adding shelves and storage containers the past few years. Here are a two Sherman Tanks that I found while I was sorting through things. The tank that is all green was made by New Ray. I paid around $10 for it. The other tank is by Forces of Valor. I think I paid around $40 for that one. I don’t really like spending too much for the die cast vehicles. I am not a WW II historical collector. More of an Army Man toy soldier collector. So the detail with the uniforms or tanks is not a big deal to me. Both tanks are nice. The FOV tank is highly detailed.

Here are some new Vikings from Runecraft. They are part of Publius company. Most of these figures look like they are waving the warriors to come forward or encouraging them during a battle. One has a war trophy. Remember to also look well kept. You never know when someone might take your head….

The past few years Publius has released a set of figures early in the year. This year they have a new set of Scandinavians. As usual they are really nicely detailed. I like the poses this year. One figure looks like Santa Claus. The female warrior could be one of his elves.. I hope to have some of these figures when they become available. These figures should be on eBay in the near future.

Here is a Mercenary figure by Prikaz Toy Soldiers. Alex is using a new sculptor and here is one of the first new figures he has done. I can’t wait to see what else is designed this year by Prikaz. Warhorse Miniatures

Greetings everyone. A few weeks ago I received in the mail a package of mainly Airfix figures. I paid $20 for the lot. They had advertised Vintage plastic toy soldiers, Germans, British and others on eBay. They are mostly World War II plastic figures. When I looked at the pictures I noticed that the Germans where mostly Airfix Italian Infantry. These figures are 1/32 in scale.

I went through the box and divided the figures into about 10 different groups.

One of the bigger groups was of Airfix British 8th Army.

The next group was of Airfix Afrika Korp figures.

The next group was Japanese Infantry. It looks like all the poses are here.

Besides the World War II Airfix figures there was some Modern Germans and some British.

I have been looking for some more Airfix Italians for a while. I think this set was one of the last World War II 1/32 scaled figure sets that Airfix made.

I purchased this used Ultimate Soldier 1/32 Japanese Zero for $25.00. It is missing a couple of pieces I think. I want to add this to a diorama that I plan on making later this year.

I received this W. Britain Collector’s Club Viking figure about 2 months ago. The last picture has a Conte Viking figure that I painted.

Rodion Makheav sent me some preview pictures of Warhansa sets. I also found a few more. Most of these sets should be available in by the end of March.

I think these figures are about Conan the Barbarian. Conan was one of my favorite comics to read growing up.

These looks like another Conan inspired set.

This figure appears to be of Lenin.

This figure is of Harald Hardrada the King of Norway form 1046 to 1066. He is part of the 1066 Saga for the Throne of Britain. Harald lived a very interesting and adventurous life. He met his end at the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066.

Here are some figures from Runecraft Miniatures. I think they are part of Publius. They make some interesting figures in 1/32 scale. I don’t know when these will be available to USA customers.

Toy Soldier Review ~ Publius Vikings Set #4

The Publius Vikings Set #4 that I ordered from Russia about 3 weeks ago arrived yesterday. These are premium figures at a premium price. The figures are made out a hard rubbery material. The color is dark brown. The size is 60mm. I purchased them through eBay, NEW!!! “PUBLIUS” VIKING WARRIORS, 8 rubber plastic soldiers 1:32 60mm.

Eight figures are included in this set. Most will be used as Vikings but I might use one or two as Saxons. We need more Saxons and Normans if anyone who owns a company is reading this, lol. Also included in this set for the first time was a female figure. All the figures are highly detailed. All the poses are of action. They are about the same size as the Conte Viking figures. Some are a little bigger like the male Archer. I will paint these figures like the other Publius figures that I own. Here are some more pictures below that compare them to Conte Vikings.

Painting 101 – Conte & Publius Vikings and Saxons

WTF? New finds, The Workshop, News on Barzso, Publius, and W. Britain for May 2017

Hi everyone, this month I am starting something new and hope to do this every month. It’s my WTF, lol. This new feature will focus on any news, new things I found or updates on projects that I am working on.

The Find

Here are some of the things I found on eBay and a few different places that I went to like garage sales, flea markets, thrift stores, and some antique stores.

Sheet Music

I also collect old sheet music, mainly the military themed sheet music. Here is an old E.T. Paull piece that I got for $5.

Here is some metal painted medieval figures that I got on ebay for about $50. I think they are from Russia. They are painted really nice and go well with my Conte and W. Britain medieval figures.

Here are some Britain Robin Hood figures that I picked up for about $15.

Here is a lot of old toy soldiers that I got for about $10, most of it broken parts or figures that are missing something.

The Workshop

From The Workshop, here are some things that I am working on. I had some time off and started painting again, some Conte and Publius figures. I am going to send most of the summer painting figures and not picking up too many things. Also I am going to start crafting some new items, I just got to think of what I want to make for both the miniatures and Playmobil. I still have a cottage to finish, some vikings ships that need to be customized for the miniatures and Playmobil. Ugh……..

Painting

I trying a new way to paint my figures, so far so good. I primed the figures black, and then started the flesh areas. Next the uniforms or clothing. I always try something different to see if I can do better with my painting. I hope to have this guys finish by the end of June. I am working with 4 base colors for the clothing with this batch. I am trying new ways to speed up the process, so far I spent a couple hours painting these over different days.

Here is some news this month about the hobby. What is going on with Barzso?? I noticed this other day on the Barzso website.

There have been rumors about Barzso Playsets shutting down the past couple of years. I still hope they stay around, in some form. It’s a sad day, we shall see….

Here are some new figures from Publius, they go for around $99 for 12 figures. “The Battle of Kulikovo 1380 ” (Russian Knights vs. Golden Horde) 1\32 scale. They are really nice, but I will skip this batch. It is just to much money, and it is not a die hard piece that I need.

Here are some of the latest figures from the Wrath of the Northmen series from W. Britain. I will be getting these figures for my collection. I have most of the Saxons and some of the Vikings from this series. I will stick to this line of paint metal figures. For the price and the way they look, they are my favorite. One day I will do a post on this series.

Well that is it for now, I wrap it up with this picture of a shieldwall. One day I will make a custom figure or more likely some type of Franken-figure of different parts of figures to make a new one.

In other news, I will have a few pictures of Replicants Saxons and there new Comanches. Plus some pictures of some old Atlantic figures that I had picked up lately.

And whatever I find in my basement, lol. The other day I started re-organizing my “stuff”, I am going through things and trying to make some room for new shelves so I have everything organized. I started finding things that I forgot I had or every purchased, lol. Some things I will get rid of, since I had to start downsizing a little. Anyway, I am starting to babble.
